Model 1870 50-70 Springfield Rifle

Notes: The M1870 was always

considered semi-experimental

This is a hard to find Springfield rifle That has no problems and all is as it should be.

There is nothing that has to be replaced to make the rifle correct

The caliber is 50/70 and bore is only fair as these rifles had much use..
"Model 1870 rifle, second production run. The rear sight is 7/16" from the receiver and it has the M70 ramrod and locking mechanism.

The rifles have solid front sights and M70 rear sights graduated to 900 yards.

solid upper and lower bands and band springs.

Breech block have the word 'Model' in their stampings.

The M68 clamp band was replaced to remedy field complaints about sling damage.

#12/13A

Colt Peacemaker 44-40

Antique Fire Arm

This is an old Indian Restoration gun.

Most of the guns that were used on Indian restorations were plated guns.

This I was told by previous owner was one of those witch he got at a trading post in the early fifties

in south west New  Mexico. I can`t document this but it makes for a good story about this old Colt.

The Colt was manufactured in 1883 the grips are replacement and fit the frame very well.

The timing is fine and the action works ok. The barrel looks to have been shortened back in time

as was the case with somany as they wanted a shorter barrel for carrying.

Most of the old cowboy guns were shortened as this one was.

A bargain priced Six Shooter with all matching numbers.

$1,750.00 o.b.o.

#1NAVY
Remington Beals Navy 1858
36 cal.

I would rate this guns finish very good to fine.
This pistol shows a lot of original finish, barrel has about 98% and cylinder
has about 85% or better and there are traces all over this magnificent military
marked and inspected and cartouche hand gun.
The bore is absolutely mint. This civil war Remington was purchased from
the great great great grand son of the original owner,
I can supply you with that information upon sale of this civil war Identified 36 caliber pistol.
This gun was one of the 500 purchased for the Army.
Manufactured between 1861 and 1863, approximately 14,500 Remington-Beals Navy revolvers were produced. About 500 martially-marked examples of this model were
purchased by the U.S.

#1861 a

model 1861 Colt Navy
matching numbers but for the wedge
first year production 1861
only a little over 38,000 were produced by Colt.
I would grade it every good to fine, most all screws are unturned.
It was found in Kentucky and it was still in its original holster and the holster
was rotted at the tip hence the only pitting is where the holster was \rotted and touching the gun.
Serial numbers are original and are on barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, cylinder and also the cylinder pin. but not the wedge.

~~SOLD~~
I mite add it is priced less than half the others I see on the net.

Model 1867 Navy Cadet Rolling Block Rifle
This is one of only 498 ever made, so needless to say a rare bird. This in very fine condition with a mint bore in caliber 50-45. One of the outstanding features is that the but plate is numbered (251) as at the time they did not number the rifles so you know where it falls in the production.
I did a little checking and there were 5000 of the 1867 Navy carbines and only 498 of the Navy Cadet rifles. You do the math it is very rare and in this condition a find indeed.
It looks like it was an arsenal re blue or at least period done. The wood is in very fine condition. The original ramrod is also included a rare find also.
This is textbook as described in Flayderman`s guide

SOLD. trades always welcome.

Pope Bros. Rifle Air pistol (1875)
SOLD

~ In working order~
This all-metal air pistol was patented by Quackenbush in 1874 and assigned to Pope. It has been suggested that Quackenbush may have manufactured the pistol under licence for the Pope Bros, however, this is not entirely clear and certainly it is Pope’s name that appears on the chamber plug at the rear.

The pistol was intended as a short-range target pistol that could be used indoors or out and was sold in a box with various accessories. These included a shoulder stock made of bent rod, a ramrod, targets, pellets and darts. The shoulder stock could be fitted into a hole drilled in the butt of the pistol, hence the title ‘Rifle Air Pistol.

The pistol is cocked by pulling the barrel forward to compress the spring. This exposes the breech for loading, the barrel being slid back in to its rear housing ready for firing.

The complete pistol set, with all its accessories cost $5. Nickel plating cost an extra $1.

The sales literature made much use of testimonials from satisfied customers, the most notable of which was General WT Sherman.

1860 Colt

It looks all there, when you cock the hammer the cylinder dose not turn it turns easily by hand, hammer works fine when trigger is pulled spring is still good, All numbers are matching but the wedge. Barrel line address is all there as is the cylinder matching number also the cylinder pin is matching. I feel the grips are great with a clear cartouche . The brass has a untouched patina.
I think it may need a hand to make the cylinder turn but I am not a gunsmith. When hammer is cocked the cylinder locks up nice and tight.
A civil war original Colt 44 cal.with matching numbers and well marked.
In the one picture that shows numbers on the trigger guard and barrel and frame, its hard to see in the pictures but they all match ! And back strap also
